I didn't post pictures this time because I found that if I waited to post pictures in order to post on the blog I wait way to long. I have a lot of pictures to post however it is a pain in the but to download them and I don't have the time to do that right now so I have decided just to post comments.
Matthew just had his 6 month appointment. Wow he is growing fast. He is now 16 lbs 13 oz and 26.25 inches tall with a head circumference of 43cm. He is in about the 25th percentile for about everything. Since he was born he has gained 9 lbs 12 oz and 6 1/2 inches (That is an average of about 6 oz and 1/4 of an inch a week. And we wonder why they have such a hard time getting used to their bodies at first. I can't imagine the growing pains that growing so quickly would induce. He now has his two bottom teeth. The other day he made sure to let me know that they were very sharp carnivorous teeth because he started to gnaw on me while nursing. After yelling no a few times that day he finally got the picture that nipples were not made for chew toys. It was so sad at first because every time I put him in the position to nurse he would look at me, make this really sad pouty face, and start to cry because he was afraid I was going to yell at him again. AH! The disciplining has started. I already hate it. My milk supply is still low but I have not given up on nursing. I do what I can and then I supplement with formula. It seems to be working out okay but I still wish I could be like other mom's and exclusively nurse until he is a year old. I am still really enjoying being a mommy. The love I experience every day with him cannot ever be fully described.
We are up for an adventure soon. Jamie, Matthew and I are traveling to Alaska on a cruise May8-15th with all of the Anderson family. My dad was generous enough to pay for tickets for all of us to go to Alaska this year. THANK YOU DAD! This is a trip that Jamie and I have been wanting to take for a long time and finally, thanks to the generosity of my Dad, we get to do it. It was a hard decision but we decided to take Matthew along. It will be kind of special having him there for a few reasons. Matthew was conceived on the very ship we will be on in Alaska, the Norwegian Star back in January of 2009 on a trip to the Mexican Riviera also with the Anderson Family. That is special enough to bring him back there but on top of that we will be on the ship on the first mother's day I will have with him. I am really looking forward to exploring more of our beautiful country including hiking, fishing, wildlife watching and of course some good old rest and relaxation. (ha ha, we all know that won't happen with a 6 month old.) Bon Voyage!
