Yellowstone

We visited Yellowstone over Memorial Day. It was a lot of fun. We almost canceled our trip because of the weather. It was supposed to rain or snow almost every day we were there and we were planning on camping about half the time we were there. We ended up increasing the amount of days we stayed in our time share and only camped one night.
We stayed in our truck camper the first night and it snowed about 3 inches over night. We had a heater so it worked out fine. We were plenty warm.The most difficult part of camping in a truck bed camper was keeping Matthew occupied in such a small space. This toy was a life saver. He would stand on the bench next to the table and play for a long time while we made meals.
Jamie made some great meals in our little camper. We had some really yummy bacon for breakfast cooked on the stove.
Matthew had a blast playing in the snow in the morning. He hasn't ever really had a chance to play in the snow like he did that day. He got soaked.

He liked the water puddles more than he liked the snow.

I could barely keep up with him he was running all over. That morning we walked probably 1/2 mile from the camp site to the visitor center. Matthew was really tired.
We spent a day walking around and seeing many of the thermal features around Old faithfull. This was one of our favorite. We loved seeing the blue pool.
I think this one is called the castle geyser. We didn't see it go off but just the base was pretty impressive.
This was my favorite geyser. I don't remember what it is called but it is really uniquely shaped and it was spewing the entire time we were there. It has little holes all over it that splash water out really uniquely.

Matthew spent the day in the stroller watching the geysers and enjoying the sunshine. It was a little windy so he wore his coat. The wind really made his nose run. I love this picture minus the buggers.

Tickle Tickle!

I think this one was the grand geyser. It is so hot you could barely see the water through the steam.

The stroller was really nice to walk on with the stroller.
Jamie really liked this stream of geyser water flowing into the river.
Matthew's monkey leash really came in handy in Yellowstone so he wouldn't wander off the boardwalk.
We took a hike over a bridge and up a rocky hill where we found an antelope. Matthew even though he was tired really enjoyed it.
Daddy had fun with the camera during the hike. Matthew is learning to smile for the camera.
I think Jamie liked this tree.
This is the small bridge we went over. The water was flowing really fast and furious this year of record snow fall.
We saw this pretty sun set on the way back to the condo one night.

This is the antelope we saw in a field on our hike.

We were excited to see a baby buffalo. Matthew really liked the animals. When he saw the buffalo he would grunt.

We encountered a few animal jams.

We saw this eagle perched on top of this leaning dead tree.

We saw one wild bear in the park but it was too far away to see well. We went to a park were we were able to see some close up.

We got to watch these wolves really close up through a glass wall.

Some of the buffalo were really close to us.
